We're having another girl!


We had a doctor appointment this morning for our "anatomy check" and everything is looking good. We took Hannah with us and she got to see the pictures of the baby on the TV screen while the ultrasound was happening. Hannah is quite excited to have a baby sister and Dr. Ruedrich even gave Hannah her own picture of the baby. Jon is also really excited to have another girl (and even made a few excited calls to family from the parking lot at the doctor's office!). Our doctor also has two girls and he told Jon that although he can't promise no fighting, having two daughters has been a wonderful experience for him.

Everything looks good on the ultrasounds (we paid particular attention to placenta placement (and development) this time!) and Jon and I were cleared to head off on vacation out of town. We're going to have another follow-up ultrasound in 3 weeks just to confirm that everything still looks good, since we're rapidly approaching the point in my last pregnancy where things (literally) started to fall apart. But, my doctor thinks we're doing the extra appointments more for our mental health to verify that things look good than because he is concerned about anything at this point. Dr. Ruedrich fully expects no problems and a third trimester this time around!
