Carseats

While cleaning in the mudroom, Lauren wouldn't let me leave her sight, so I buckled her into Hannah's new carseat that was waiting to be installed and she was quite the happy camper to sit and watch me clean and organize!

Of course, Hannah wanted her picture taken too. 

One thing we have learned with carseats.....you need a fleet of them!  I had no concept of the number of carseats that Jon and I would "need."  To begin, you have the carrier that you can use with a baby until they outgrow it (both of our girls outgrew theirs in length before weight - each lasted 6-8 months in that one).  Then, you've got the convertible car seat for mom's car (since I run around with them on Fridays and might need to pick them up from the sitter during the week), the convertible for dad's car (since he takes them to the sitter on a daily basis and that is the car we use when we're together), and the convertible for the babysitter's car.  That makes 4. 

Well, throw in another kid and you need another 3 carseats - one for each of us.  We bumped Hannah up to the convertible booster (she's still using it as a car seat b/c she doesn't weigh enough for the booster, but it can be a high back booster and eventually a backless booster down the road) and bought 2 of those, one for my car and one for Jon's car, and have moved Lauren into Hannah's old convertible seats.  Next up, we'll have to get a booster for the babysitter when school starts.  So, that makes 7 car seats we'll own.  (And, the carseat the babysitter already has was given to me by someone at work....and it's about to expire, so we'll actually have to get yet another seat sometime next year.)  I can't imagine the next round of booster purchases a few years from now.

These kids are expensive!
