Our basement project is starting to make some real progress. Here are some pictures of the work that has been done in the month of March.
the floor in front of the crawl space was jackhammered to expose the plumbing under the house so we can add a bathroom (it was "pre-plumbed" for a bathroom when it was built, but we've learned that "pre-plumbed" only means that plumbing exists, not that it is in a usable location!)
Kind of interesting to look under your basement floor (and to have part of the "floor" piled up throughout the room). Our contractor said the whole house was shaking when he was doing this part.
framing is done for the bathroom

Looking to the "playroom" area by the bottom of the stairs
Bathroom again
Drywall should be installed soon....so it is coming right along. I think most of the electrical is done and it's been exciting to watch it take shape. We'll have about 28x14 of space combined in the "family" & "playroom" areas, and the bathroom will have a shower so family can sprawl out on visits and I'm sure it will come in handy for sleepovers when the girls get older.
