Pumpkin Carving

I wasn't quite on the ball with getting the pumpkin carved, so after I had the girls all ready for bed I realized that I needed to get the pumpkin done!  So, the girls carved the pumpkin in their PJ's (with Hannah wearing a crown).  Hannah was a big help scooping out the pumpkin, and Lauren wanted in on the action too....she loved putting her hands in it!
Lauren enjoyed watching the pumpkin carving!

Preschool Costume Day

Hannah's preschool had a costume day where all of the kids dressed up and then did a little parade through the gym to show off for the parents.  Hannah dressed as Elmo, but she didn't want to leave the head on for long!  It was so cute to see all of the kids dressed up and excited to show off to their parents.

Even the preschool director dressed up!

Boo at the Zoo

Sheri and I took the kids to the zoo for "Boo at the Zoo."  It ended up being the perfect fall day to be out and about.  In the end, we only spent about 2 hours at the zoo, which is plenty when the kids are getting candy for the first of 3 or 4 opportunities to dress up and get candy!  We had a picnic lunch, endured some fits of kids wanting to walk when we wanted them to ride, some sneaking of the candy when we told them "no, you have to wait until you get home," and the general crankiness that comes when you are pushing up against naptime.  BUT, everyone had a good time.

Here are a few pictures that Sheri managed to get on her phone, since I forgot my camera.

The Dog Cage - a favorite toy

I'm not sure what it is about my kids and our dog cage.....but it is a favorite toy! Lauren discovered Abby's cage and spent part of the afternoon crawling in and out, opening and shutting the door, and banging on the floor to make noise. Abby kept standing outside the cage looking at her like "what are you doing". Here are a few pictures!
Of course, Hannah had to get in on the action too!

I'll do it myself, thank you very much

Lauren prefers to feed herself.  She doesn't like to be spoon-fed, unless she is holding the spoon, which is quite messy!  But, at least she is learning and I can eat my dinner while she feeds herself -- progress!
