11 Months Old!

Last week Lauren turned 11 months old.  This first year is going so very fast.  This weekend, while Hannah is in Pittsburgh with her aunt and uncle, Lauren certainly is enjoying being an "only child"!  She has the full attention of both Mommy & Daddy.  Our house is so quiet without Hannah, even if Lauren is babbling and playing.

Lauren is cruising around the furniture and moving chairs around in the kitchen -- she'll be walking in no time!  She absolutely LOVES Abby, and Abby loves her (especially when she is in the highchair with food).  Lauren does this screech to get our attention & we're working with her on using some words and/or signs instead of the screech.  She's starting to say "mama" when she wants me instead of screaming at me, and she acknowledges "all done" and "more" at the table (although usually by laughing at me and not by doing the sign herself).  Lauren loves to eat and if you don't keep the food coming fast enough, you hear about it! She only wants to feed herself and isn't too keen on being helped.  She is starting to use a spoon (although it is pretty messy) but she mostly eats with her hands -- we've finally gotten to the place where the plate (usually) stays on the highchair.  Lauren stopped taking a bottle almost 2 months ago and is a sippy girl, but she thinks she's 3 years old and wants to use a real cup too!  She learns so much from Hannah!
