4 Weeks Old

Hannah is 4 weeks old today!
Hannah in a "milk coma" following a nursing session : )

She is now allowed to eat all of her meals nursing or with a bottle -- provided that she is awake enough to eat (and interested in eating). Despite being quite sleepy today (a growth spurt, maybe?), she took a few feedings in a row from a bottle, so her nurse removed her feeding tube. Not having the tube has really improved her bottle feeding and nursing. Of course, the tube will have to go back in if it is time for a feeding and she's not interested in the bottle.

Now, if only we could get her weaned from her oxygen. The nurses have tried to wean her off of her nasal cannula a number of times, but she needs a "little puff" to keep her numbers up. We are still hopeful that they'll be able to wean her before she comes home, but we have been warned by a number of people at the hospital that they may send her home on oxygen. Ultimately, only time will tell, but we are taking our required CPR class tomorrow afternoon just in case.

Hey, Guys. She is beautifull! It's like time-lapsed photography...she is developing so quickly! Prayers are answered! Take one day at a time. He will see you through and provide. I can't wait to hold her some day. :) Take care of yourselves.
