Sugar Cookies

Our last Christmas Day activity was making sugar cookies after dinner. The kids loved playing with the flour, dough, and sprinkles! (We decided that we had enough of a mess without making icing this time.) Here are a few of the pictures of Hannah and Liam.

Making cookies didn't hold Hannah's attention very long and after a while she was climbing the chair...once she put some sprinkles on her cookies, that is.

We had flour everywhere after this fun project, so Karen and I took the kids up to take a bath. They had so much fun playing together today - what a great way to wrap up the day!

Well.....at least until bedtime....Hannah was off schedule a lot of the time during our trip to West Virginia and she made it really difficult for us. She usually runs to her crib or bed at home and demands to be put in bed and we walk away....and she's out. At my parents' house that wasn't the case - we had hours of wrestling and crying and tantrums. Christmas night about 10pm was when the straw broke the camel's (my) back -- after an hour+ of me trying to get her to stay into bed and go to sleep (for the 2nd time!), she pulled down her pants, took off her diaper, and showed it to me with a "look Mommy"....just as I thought she was almost ready to go to sleep. UGH! I took her down stairs and gave her to Jon with a "you deal with her" and "get her to sleep." Let's just say that it took him 2 minutes and she was out...I was less than thrilled. Thankfully we'll soon have her back on her normal routine at home.
