7 Months Old

Lauren is already seven months old.  She is becoming such a big girl.  She loves to "talk" and will squeal really loud if you're not paying enough attention to her!  She has been sitting on her own for 4-6 weeks now and is happiest sitting up playing with toys.  She passes toys back and forth between her hands and loves to chew on just about anything.  She's definitely in the early stages of teething -- nothing has popped through, but she likes to chew.  Lauren still doesn't really roll yet; I'm guessing having a big sister that constantly showers you with attention and toys means you don't have to work too hard to get them yourself!  But, she does wiggle around on the floor a bunch, so I know it will happen eventually (but in the meantime, it's nice to put her somewhere and she is still there when you come back).  Lauren loves her exersaucer and the doorway jumper, but doesn't like the bumbo anymore.  Her legs are a little too chubby for it, so she spends all of her time in it arching her back trying to get out!  It's so much fun to watch her play.

On the food front, Lauren is eating oatmeal and baby food.  We have jars of food, but when we have something that I can easily grind, I grind it up instead of using a jar so she has more practice at mashing food in her mouth.  She loves her food.  We sometimes have to slow her down when she is eating, because she just holds her mouth open like a little bird.  Hannah keeps wanting to feed her, so we're keeping a close eye on that.  Hannah loves to offer Cheerios, and as long as it is only one at a time, Lauren is good.  She can use her palm to pick them up, so it won't be long before she is chowing down on her own!

Enjoy some 7 month pictures!

Lauren also really enjoys her baths.  Both of our girls love the water and bathtime.  Lauren loves to kick and splash and chew on rubber ducks.  Every now and then I'll give the girls a bath together.  Hannah is good about sharing her tub space, and since Lauren can sit up, I can use a little more water than when she was just laying down, which makes Hannah happy.  The funniest part of them in the tub is watching Hannah do silly things to make Lauren laugh.  I so need to get it on video!
