Lauren likes to eat...immediately upon waking up. I have nano-seconds from the time she wakes up until she is in full-on hunger mode. It makes it slightly difficult to calm her down so she can actually eat, but once she knows food is coming she does tend to settle down. The hard part is keeping her hands away from her mouth (she loves to suck her fists/fingers)...and Hannah frequently offers to help hold her hand to keep it out of the way.

I used to worry about baby Andre sucking his fist/thumb and then a friend reminded me that the ultrasound photo I had showed him sucking his thumb! So it is perfectly natural and a way to self-calm.
